Turkey increases the number of countries with travel ban to 20

Turkey’s Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca has announced the new measures taken by the Turkish government in order to combat the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
Koca said at a press conference this Monday that laboratories, previously numbered at 6 would be increased to 16 and that they would start operating at Turkey’s largest cities. Koca added that an advanced testing kit with antigens that give rapid results would be handed out to all provinces in order to achieve faster results.

Koca indicated that number of countries with travel ban imposed increased to 20, “As of 0800 (0500 GMT) tomorrow; flights to England, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Ireland and United Arab Emirates are stopped. With the approval of our President, our Ministry of Religious Affairs has decided to cease all prayers that are done in congregations.”

Koca said that there are new cases which resulted positive and those cases would be announced at evening, local time. Koca added, “Our citizens should be distant to a secondary person. If need be press conferences won’t be conducted this way. We should be wary of the elderly and those with chronic diseases. These groups are the riskiest. Please carefully adhere to the 14-day isolation rule.
